Updating

I have added a few more masks, but I'll probably wait to do more until I have some actual in-game photos. I hope to be able to post more updates after the regular season actually begins.

Thanks for checking in! Be sure to come back..

John Gibson 2015-16 Mask

John Gibson of the Anaheim Ducks (born July 14, 1993 in Pittsburgh, PA.)

Artist: David Gunnarsson

Article at Puck Daddy

Anaheim Ducks netminder and American hero, John Gibson, has an affinity for video games. For his past two mask designs, he's used Pac-Man and Space Invaders as the inspiration for the art.
To round out the video game trilogy, Gibson and helmet artist to the stars, Dave Gunnarsson of DaveArt.com, looked to an unlikely source... Duck Hunt.

Cam Ward 2015-16 Mask

Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes (born February 29, 1984 in Saskatoon, SK.)

Artist: Steve Nash of EyeCandyAir

Thanks to the reader who commented below: As of 12/29/15 Ward has not worn the new mask created for this season (photo at the bottom.) All the photos immediately below are of the mask he wore last season. Here is that mask, and you can see my post from last year here.

So even though this says 2014/15, it's the same one as the in-game photos below.

Posted for the back of Ward's mask.

New mask created this season, but not worn as of 12/29/15.

Ben Scrivens 2015-16 Mask

Ben Scrivens of the Edmonton Oilers Montreal Canadiens (born Sept. 11, 1986 in Spruce Grove, AB.)

Scrivens was traded from Edmonton to Montreal on December 28, 2015. I will leave his Edmonton mask at the bottom of the entry.

Montreal's Scrivens honors Motorhead with mask art

Scrivens has chosen to honor the memory of Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer and bassist of the heavy metal band Motorhead, with his newest goalie mask.
Kilmister, 70, died on Dec. 28 after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
Eye Candy Air artist Steve Nash painted the mask, which features a portrait of Kilmister's head inside the ace of spades symbol on one side of the mask.
"He's a huge influence on not just me, but a lot of the bands that I listen to and a lot of the type of music that I listen to," Scrivens said. "For me, he's probably the epitome of heavy metal and rock music in terms of not just his music, but his attitude, his persona, his look. He's an ugly guy, he's got a gruff, ugly singing voice. He says what he thinks all the time, he's swearing all the time, and it wasn't an act. I think that's the thing that came across from him, nothing was for show. You knew that when he went home and talked to his kid he was probably the exact same way."
The other side features the logo of Alexisonfire, a heavy metal band from St. Catharines, Ontario, that has adorned previous masks worn by Scrivens.

This was his first mask with Montreal (same design as in Edmonton, but red instead of orange.)

James Reimer 2015-16 Mask

James Reimer of the Toronto Maple Leafs San Jose Sharks (born March 15, 1988 in Morweena, MB.)

Reimer was traded from Toronto to San Jose on February 27th.

Artist: David Gunnarsson

This is the mask Reimer started the season with, but he changed partway through (see at the bottom.)

This is the graphic at the PadsTracker, which is different than any of the photos I found.

David Gunnarsson posted photos of Reimer's new mask in December, and the photos I found were from January and beyond.

Chad Johnson 2015-16 Mask
